Can I attend if I am under 18?

Unfortunately, not. The Dalby Picnic Races is an 18+ event. Make sure you bring your ID, you’ll need it for entry!

Mothers/fathers with babies that are still breast/bottle fed, you are welcome to bring your bub.

How do I get to the track?

There is a shuttle bus running for a gold coin donation going to Legacy/Lighthorse Brigade

Pioneer Museum -> Thomas Jack Park (Pratten St) -> Dalby Tourist Park (Myall St)

12:30pm – 1pm – 1:30pm – 2pm

There is also plenty of car parking at the race track.

Can I camp at the race track?

No, but there are two campgrounds in town and our busses will deliver you safely to the event.

Can I bring my own food/drink?

If you have a table in the Black Toyota Marquee, you are welcome to bring your own picnic. Due to being a licenced event, we are strictly not BYO for drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. We will have plenty of food trucks available on the day to purchase food from.

Can I get cash out?

In this economy, cash is king. We will have eftpos available but no ATMs at the track.

What time will Fashions on the Field commence?

Fashions registrations must occur either online via trybooking or at the Fashions tent from 12:30 – 1pm. Judging starts promptly at 1:30pm.

How do I find lost property?

If you lose an item, you are welcome to message our Facebook or Instagram page. Any found items will be available for collection from the racetrack on Sunday – keep an eye on our Facebook/Instagram for a time. Anything not collected will be taken to The Windsor Hotel Sunday afternoon.

Can I get a refund if I can no longer attend?

Unfortunately, no. You are welcome to sell your ticket though, just be wary of scammers.

What if the name on the ticket doesn’t match my Identification?

That’s okay, each ticket has a unique barcode and so can only be used once. We won’t be checking names against tickets.

What is a Calcutta and how does it work?

  • Each Calcutta ticket sold starts the pool for the Calcutta auction. The more that are sold, the greater the starting prize pool.
  • The Calcutta is for the Dalby Cup itself (and the horses in that race only).
  • Once all of the horses are drawn, then the auction begins.
  • When a horse sells in the auction, “The Drawer” gets half of the ‘bidded value’ and the other half goes into the prize pool. If “The Drawer” wants a chance to win the prize pool, they must buy their horse or another horse in the auction. If they buy their own, they pay only HALF the ‘bidded value’ which goes into the prize pool. The fiercer the auction – the bigger the prize pool in the end.
  • Prize pool: Winner 60%, 2nd place 20%, 3rd place 10%, last place $100. 10% will be donated to Legacy

So when is the Calcutta and how do I get involved?

The draw and auction will take place between race 4 and 5 for race 5 – The Dalby Cup.

You can purchase tickets from the fashions/Calcutta tent from 12:30pm for $5ea or from the roving salespeople
