108th Western Truck Group Dalby Picnic Race Day 2020
In response to the Prime Minister and Council of Australian Governments direction that any organised mass gathering over 500 people should be cancelled, the committee has made the difficult decision not to hold the 2020 Dalby Picnics on April 25.
It has not been an easy decision for the committee as we are aware that this event is a highly anticipated meet on racing and social calendars in addition to being of significant economic benefit to our local community. However, the safety and well-being of our racegoers, patrons, and stakeholders is of the greatest importance to us and our committee believe this is the best course of action.
The Dalby Amateur Picnic Race Club has raced consistently since its inception in 1902 apart from interruptions caused by significant world events, including the two world wars and the Great Depression, and now in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), which the World Health Organisation declared a pandemic last week.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate all those around the world who are on the front line working to contain this coronavirus.
All prepaid tickets for our marquees will be refunded and we are currently undertaking this process.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, and appreciate your understanding and patience as we endeavour to support the best possible outcome for all involved.
Kind Regards, Jane Edwards, President
